We developed a new approach to model the spread of COVID-19 using an extended SEIR model with a mobility matrix, hospitalization dynamics, and vaccination and tracing strategies. Our models successfully predicted the pandemic trajectory in Chile and are now being used with data from USA. We also analyzed vaccination data in Chilean schools and studied how communication affects the spread of infectious diseases. Our work has been published in four scientific publications and disseminated through media and direct contact with Chilean health authorities.
