Components
This project is designed to meet all expected outcomes from the Mandatory Component 1, and Optional Components 2 and 5.
To achieve this, the ECLIPSE Consortium will unite partners across the US with the global community as well as seven South American countries who will function as a hub for innovation. Together, these partners will achieve the following:
Component 1: ECoP
Our approach to Component 1 is underpinned by the unique strengths of
the ECLIPSE Consortium, a dynamic alliance of experts from various fields and
countries. We will leverage the collective expertise and diversity of our
members to create a vibrant, response-ready network that fosters robust
connections between the US and the international community. The main output for
Component 1, the ECLIPSE Community of Practice (ECoP), is not
just about swift communication and collaboration; it is about creating and
institutionalizing a response-ready network, completed with tested and refined
innovations that are being actively shared and implemented across stakeholders.
Component 2: EACP
At the heart of Component 2 lies the development and implementation of the ECLIPSE Advanced Computational Platform (EACP), complemented by an interlinked ecosystem:
ECLIPSE Advanced Computational Platform (EACP)
A cloud-based, high performance computing platform to enable advanced outbreak analytics and disease modeling. Focuses on accurate nowcasting and forecasting, advanced visualizations, intervention evaluations and unique roaming intelligence capabilities.
ECLIPSE Database (EDB)
A hybrid multi-model database to facilitate secure and interoperable data sharing and integration. Aims to collect, standardize, and secure a wide range of data, collected, and produced by this project, providing the necessary infrastructure for accurate and timely outbreak analytics and disease modeling.
ECLIPSE Training Program (ETP)
An innovative program focused on nurturing advanced human capital, with specialized training in outbreak analytics and disease modeling. Aims to enhance the skills of healthcare professionals and decision-makers, enabling more informed and effective responses to public health emergencies.
ECLIPSE Knowledge Base (EKB)
A living repository to document experiences and insights gathered throughout the project. Serves as a valuable resource for future public health interventions and ensures lessons learned from this project can be applied to future health emergencies.
Component 5: OADM Network
Beyond the ECLIPSE Consortium, the broader
Outbreak Analytics and Disease Modeling (OADM) Network offers
a unique opportunity to address enabling environmental issues where possible.
This could include the creation of shared use cases, data sharing agreements,
and incentives for standards development, or upskilling key stakeholders across
the network. Even more powerful is the ability to generate and foster trusted
connections that facilitate the sharing of data and innovative analytical
models, tools, and best practices that generate impactful insights to guide a
rapid response. The OADM Network has the potential to create something that is
more than the sum of its parts. This added integration of OADM activities
across all will ultimately amplify the network’s ability to reduce morbidity
and mortality associated with public health emergency responses.
To support OADM impact, the work of this component
will have three areas of strategic focus:
